Conference with Australian Federal Government and related Adoption Authorities   Family Gathering

Invited by the Department of Human Services of Victoria, Australia and the Department of Child, Youth and Family Service, New Zealand, the CCAA delegation consisting of 9 members, led by deputy Director-General Chu Xiaoying, visited Australia and New Zealand during May 17-28, 2007.

During their visit, the delegation had meetings with the Australian federal government, related adoption authorities and the Department of Child, Youth and Family Service, New Zealand, exchanged opinions effectively about implementation of the Hague Convention, standards of the priority measure and the procedure of special need program. The delegation visited the Sydney Chinese Consulate and the New Zealand Chinese Embassy, reported the inter-country adoption work in China. Also, the delegation attended three family gatherings, got to know more about the life of the Chinese adopted children in foreign countries. The visit further enhanced the inter-country adoption co-operation between China and the two countries, reached the purpose of work communication, mutual understanding and promoting co-operation.
